Eva Ullmann
It was during her short and succinct study of educational theory that Eva Ullmann discovered the powerful effects of the theatrical arts. Her focus soon turned to an examination of well-functioning communication. What distinguishes good dialogue from bad? Why do some people come up against fewer misunderstandings than others?
In many institutions and companies the success of humour as a resource goes to waste or is not permitted, even though humour is obviously effective. In summer 2005 this state of affairs led to the founding of the German Institute for Humour (Deutsches Institut für Humor). It is based on a combination of science, training and, above all, humour. Eva Ullmann is the first ever non-funny comedian. Unlike Buster Keaton, who was funny, but did not laugh, laughing is one of her favourite pastimes. Despite not being funny, she still makes her participants laugh. How she does it is a trade secret.
Also in 2005, Eva Ullmann founded the improvisational theatre group ImbH. On 19 March, ImbH was launched at a highly successful premiere in the Sanftwut cabaret. As well as monthly public appearances, ImbH mainly appears at business events.
That year, THE number of all numbers was 157 – the number of times Mr Ullmann Senior asked exactly HOW his daughter now earned a living. She learns something new every time and everywhere, and takes great pleasure in not taking herself too seriously.
